Jamila Kindall

Jamila Kindall is a native of Birmingham, Ala where she is a Certified Athletic Trainer and a Licensed Massage Therapist working with Drayer Physical Therapy Institute and Lemak Sports Medicine. She works in the clinic-outreach setting providing rehabilitation services to clinical patients and serving as a first responder on the sidelines of local high school sporting events and practices. She also spends time mentoring high school teens that have an interest in the profession of sports medicine and educating as many as possible about the differences between athletic trainers and personal trainers.

She has always been an overall sports fan but she is very fond of basketball.  She was the point guard on the varsity basketball team at John Carroll High School. She still continues to play pick-up games with the guys, giving them a run for their money.

It’s no surprise that Ms. Kindall’s interests and involvement in sports led to an attraction to the profession of sports medicine. She obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science from Georgia State University and continued on to obtain a Master’s degree in Athletic Training from the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga. After completion of her degree programs, Jamila Kindall later obtained a Certification in Massage Therapy from the Birmingham School of Massage.

Recently, Ms. Kindall was offered a role as a Sports Massage Practitioner at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, England. Out of 250,000 applicants, Jamila Kindall was given an opportunity of a lifetime.  What a privilege and an esteemed honor to be part of history on the Olympic Games Medical Team 2012!

The 2012 Summer Olympics will be an exciting and honorable adventure for Ms. Kindall. She will freely give of her time and overall expertise without financial gain.  Long days and nights will be sacrificed in an effort to give back and be deemed as an ambassador representing our country and our home state. She is seeking support and assistance in this effort on her journey to London. All sponsorships, donations, and overall contributions are the primary responsibilities of the volunteer to obtain. With your support and help, Ms. Kindall can make a difference between mediocrity and excellence.
