Melissa Snow-Clark has been promoted to Head of Communications at the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute (BCRI). She previously served as Development Coordinator at BCRI since August of 2010. In her new role, Snow-Clark will serve as BCRI’s liaison with the media, write and distribute news releases, and oversee all printed and electronic materials created to support the facility’s ongoing programs and services. Prior to joining BCRI, Snow-Clark had over 17 years of marketing/communications experience in nonprofit and for-profit companies, including McLeod Software, Motion Industries and the Arthritis Foundation. She holds a bachelor’s degree in art from the University of Arkansas and has done graduate work in communications at Boston University. She is a board member of Media of Birmingham and was recently named an honoree at the Metro Birmingham NAACP’s 11th Annual Women History Celebration.
